The Lie of Correct Technique in the Olympic Lifts
There’s no such thing as “correct” technique in the Olympic lifts—there are universal principles, basic mechanics and the laws of physics, and a certain amount of deviation you can get away with.
I’m going to show you this clearly, and help you figure out how to learn and develop with the technique that makes YOU the best lifter possible.
There’s an endless amount to be said on this topic, but I’ll try to not add too much more here.
What I teach is what I’ve found works best most reliably for the most people, and certain elements evolve somewhat over the years as my experience continues to increase. That’s it.
There’s no secret agenda or conspiracy or whatever else people imagine when something seems to not align perfectly with the latest top secret training video they happened to see five minutes ago.
I’m just trying to save you a few years of unf*%#king yourself after getting detoured by a relentless barrage of shiny new distractions whose purpose is capturing your attention, not improving your lifting.
Social media is abounding with people who’ve not only decided there’s One True Way to perform the Olympic lifts, but that their duty in life is to tell other people what it is and call people who don’t agree idiots no matter how accomplished they are as lifters or coaches.
So if nothing else, hopefully this video keeps you from falling into this trap and becoming one of the insufferable dorks online that ruin the Internet for everyone else while also hamstringing your own weightlifting career for no good reason.
THANK YOU
To Torkokhtiy Media, HookGrip, All Things Gym and Weightlifting House for the videos
