Jerk Dip: Toes & Knees Out
Quit jerking with your toes pointed forward!
Forward toes means forward knees which means a forward dip and drive, which means bad jerks and indefinite sadness.
Turn the toes out and push the knees out in line with the feet as you dip.
This helps you move the hips straight down and into a much stronger position to brake solidly and drive back up straight and powerfully.
How much you turn the toes out will depend on the width of your stance, anatomy and comfort. Experiment to find what’s most effective for you.
Are there a few elite lifters who jerk successfully with their toes forward? Yes. There are also people with two heads.
Do you have a perfectly balanced dip and drive, adequate drive power, and a great jerk altogether with your toes forward? Then keep them forward. Otherwise try this.
