Split Jerk - Get Off Your Toes
In the split jerk, make sure you’re not way up on the toes of the back foot.
This makes it nearly impossible to load the back leg adequately for balance and stability, and makes it more likely for the foot to spin inward.
Get as much of the forefoot against the floor as you can, with even pressure over the contact area.
Use the push jerk behind the neck in split to get strong and comfortable in the ideal position, and imagine almost sliding your back foot as you split.
Common reasons to be up on the toes other than just not knowing what to do are over-reaching the back foot and being too heavy on the front, both of which can be symptoms of moving forward as you drive and split.
