Lifting vs Shuffling the Feet
Really it shouldn’t even be explained as sliding/shuffling OR lifting… it should be a question of how much you lift.
Can you lift the feet too high? Yes. If you’re lifting to a point where you can’t consistently place your feet properly back on the floor, or you’re free-falling too long so the weight is slam-dunking you beyond control, you’re lifting too high.
But you can also fail to lift the feet enough: Your feet remaining stuck to the floor indicates a failure to drive long and powerfully enough with the legs through the pull, prevents repositioning of the feet into your optimal receiving stance, and prevents necessary adjustment to account for any horizontal motion of your center of mass to re-establish balance when receiving.
If you’re preparing to comment that shuffling is better because it’s more efficient, please stop and r
