Diagonal Bar Path

Are you always stepping forward or missing lifts in front?

Imagine moving the bar in a slightly backward diagonal line from start to finish.

We do want the bar to move very slightly backward from its starting point to the receiving position, but this is an exaggeration to cue you to intentionally and actively control the bar from start to finish instead of allowing it to go where it wants—which is away from you.

Don’t go nuts and jump your entire body backward—just focus on making the bar stay with you instead of chasing it as it tries to escape.
