Snatch & Clean Hang Positions
Power Position: Vertical trunk, knee bend only, bar at hip, paused in dip
Dip: Vertical trunk, knee bend only, bar at hip, countermovement
Hip: Hinge at hip and bend knees, bar in hip, shoulders in front of bar
High-Hang: Hinge at hip and bend knees, bar high thigh, shoulder joint above bar
Mid-Thigh: Hinge at hip and bend knees, bar mid-thigh, shoulder joint above bar
Knee: Hinge at hip and bend knees, bar at kneecap, shoulder joint above bar
Below Knee: Hinge at hip and bend knees, bar few inches below kneecap, shoulder joint above bar
Floating: Hinge at hip and bend knees, bar close to floor as possible without touching, shoulder joint above bar (same as starting position)
You could add Tall to this list as well: Standing tall, zero leg/hip action—just lift feet and pull under.
The only difference for the clean is that depending on grip width and proportions, power position, dip and hip may place the bar at high thigh instead of the actual hip crease.
Please forgive my shitty head/upper back position—cervical disc herniation was irritated that day and I wasn’t able to extend properly.
