Road To Pan Ams With Laura Alexander

Laura made the world team with her winning performance at the 2021 USA Weightlifting National Championships, but was only an alternate for the Pan Am team.
One week before she would lift, we got the call that Team USA needed Laura to lift in place of an injured athlete at Pan Ams in Ecuador (Team USA needed to earn points to earn athlete spots for the next Pan Am Games, so it was critical to have a full team).
Laura is the head trainer for football and assistant AD for a D1 college - it's no simple thing for her to just leave the country with little notice during football season. Thankfully the team at San Jose State is supportive, and she found a way to make it work.
We arrived Friday at midnight, and she lifted Sunday morning, and Laura showed what a true athlete she is.
