Dumbbell Rear Delt Row
With a dumbbell in each hand, bend the knees slightly and hinge forward at the hips to bring the trunk close to horizontal. Keep the palms facing back and row the elbows up and out to the sides, squeezing the shoulder blades together and down at the top, then lower again under control.
Purpose
The dumbbell rear delt row is an upper back exercise that emphasizes the rear delts by keeping the elbows moving more perpendicularly to the body than a conventional row.
Programming
Generally sets of 10-20 reps are appropriate. Avoid overloading and losing the ability to maintain the proper elbow position and complete finish at the top.
